West Terminal Airspace
The West Terminal Airspace serves as a crucial controlled region for managing aircraft in and out of Bristol airport.
The West Masterplan coordinates changes proposed by Bristol airport to upgrade the arrival and departure routes below 7,000 ft. and National Air Traffic (En Route) Services (NERL), the UK’s main navigation service provider, to upgrade the route network above 7,000 ft.

Stakeholder engagement
In developing Iteration 3 of the Masterplan for each cluster, ACOG is required by the CAA to formally engage on key aspects of it before the participating airports carry out a public consultation on the proposed changes with local stakeholders.
This is an opportunity for ACOG to share information and progress with a wide range of stakeholders on the development of the Masterplan for the cluster.
A public engagement exercise for the WTA is expected in 2025.
The purpose of the public engagement exercises is to explain in general terms the high-level approach to coordinating the ACPs required to deliver airspace modernisation.
